Introduction
Emerald Ties: Crossing Fates was initially conceived in 2006. After a few successful years, a lack of time and resources put the game into a deep hiatus. Emerald Ties now returns after sleeping for many years, complete with a shortened name! For SAGE this year we bring to you an entirely redesigned Sparkling Seaside Zone and the brand new Polar Peak Zone along with a re-imagined Relic Retreat Zone. Rediscover the fun of competing against other fans using the online time attack leaderboards!

Time Attack Contest
During SAGE 2012 we are running a contest through our online time attack leaderboards! If you're interested in giving it a shot, please go to the Emerald Ties main website, linked below this paragraph, to register a user name. This will enable you to submit best times from time attack mode from within the game.
Register at the
Emerald Ties Official Website
Entering Contest
The entering into the contest is simple. Once you have a registered account on the Emerald Ties website, simply play Emerald Ties in time attack mode. This can be accessed from the game's main menu by choosing "Time Attack" and then selecting the zone and act you wish to try. At the end of the act you will be prompted with the Time Attack Result screen. Here you can enter your user name and password from the Emerald Ties website. After clicking "Submit", your time data will be sent to our website. Times submitted between August 6th 12:01AM and August 12th 11:59PM US Eastern Time will be automatically entered into the contest. Any times before or after this range will not be eligible.
If for some reason you have trouble submitting a time, you can contact geedude AT gmail DOT com (replace AT and DOT with @ and . respectively). Unfortunately, the Emerald Team isn't liable for submission issues. Because of the nature of the game and contest, only submissions that are submitted automatically from the game will be accepted. If your time fails to submit for whatever reason, we cannot manually record your time with a screenshot (since they can easily be altered). We recommend doing a test run to make sure you have no issues submitting before attempting for your best time.
How to Win
There will be 3 winners, one for each zone (Sparkling Seaside, Relic Retreat, Polar Peak). To win you must have the lowest combined times for an entire zone. As an example:
Player A has the following times for Sparkling Seaside Zone:
Act 1: 01:30:00
Act 2: 01:45:00
Act 3: 01:15:00
Combined Time: 04:30:00
Player B has the following times for Sparkling Seaside Zone:
Act 1: 01:00:00
Act 2: 02:00:00
Act 3: 01:15:00
Combined Time: 04:15:00
In this scenario, Player B has the lowest combined time of 04:15:00. This player would win for Sparkling Seaside Zone.
Contest Prizes
Everyone loves prizes! After SAGE 2012 concludes we will take some time (most likely a few days) and sift through all the times and determine who is the winner for each zone. Once the winner is determined, we will send an e-mail to the address that was used to register the account on the Emerald Ties website (so make sure it's valid!). Once verified, the player will be sent an electronic $25 Amazon.com gift card. If you're in a country that doesn't use USD, we will work out some arrangement.
No player will be named the winner of multiple zones. In the case that one player technically wins multiple zones, we will name them the winner of the zone in which they scored the lowest combined time. We will award the other zone(s) that they would have won to the next runner(s) up. Members of the Emerald Team are not eligible to win this contest.
Important: If we do not hear back within 5 days of sending the e-mail to a winner, the runner-up will be named the winner and an e-mail will be sent to them for their prize.
Disclaimer
No system or game is perfect. If we suspect that a player has somehow sent an illegitimate time, especially if it's a winning time, we have the right to investigate and ensure it's legitimacy. In this rare (and hopefully non-occurring occasion) we may ask for additional proof of the time or something close to it to prove its legitimacy. Again, we do not suspect this will ever be necessary, but we want to fully disclose our intentions. Additionally, the Emerald Team is not responsible for times that fail to get recorded for any reason, as stated above.
